DUI Consequences & Chester County Opportunities

In Chester County DUI prosecutions, all defendants should review the programs offered by the Chester County DUI Program. ARD program applications are available on the District Attorney’s website.

In Pennsylvania, the minimum mandatory penalties for DUI/DWI are defined by state law. A consequences grid has been prepared by the state DOT to outline those penalties, by Tier and offense number. When a Pennsylvania DUI conviction occurs, those consequences can only be reduced by participating in an Intermediate Punishment program. The Chester County Intermediate Punishment program may provide an opportunity to reduce the mandatory minimum sentence by substituting electronic home monitoring and community service. This program is explained by Adult Probation on their website, accessed here.
